iSCSI configurations and multipathing with ESX 4.0
Figure 11 shows how to configure the iSCSI software on a CLARiiON storage system. Note that the iSCSI
hardware-initiator configuration is similar to the Fibre Channel HBA configuration, and is not covered in
this section.
Two virtual switches (vSwitches), each containing one or more NICs, can be configured on ESX 4.0 as
shown in
Figure 12. The two NICs or vmkernel ports should be on different subnets. The SP ports should
be split across subnets in order to spread the network load across NICS, subnets, and SP ports.
