A Comprehensive BLI Laboratory Evaluation



JANUARY 2009

With rated speeds of 12 ppm for colour and 16 ppm for black, the

Dell 2135cn Multifunction Colour Laser Printer gave an above aver-

age performance in its lab evaluation. The A4 desktop multifunction

colour laser printer, which is simple to set up and use, demonstrat-

ed ﬂawless reliability throughout its 20,000-impression durability

test. Also noteworthy is that the 2135cn Multifunction Colour Laser

Printer produced very good overall image quality, including clearly

readable text, in black mode via the PCL 6 driver—the primary use

for the unit. The company has dramatically improved feedback to

workstations from the previous version of Status Monitor Console

by providing more detailed information in the utility and the types

of alerts that users can conﬁgure. Additionally, the unit comes with

administrative tools to limit colour usage and has black, cyan and

magenta tested toner yields that exceeded their rated yields. Based

on these ﬁndings, BLI highly recommends the 2135cn Multifunction

Colour Laser Printer for individual users with monthly print volumes

of up to 3,000 impressions.
